The Counter
Counter, wood and steel
The first piece built by Maison Kaylor. The Counter is conceived as an architectural volume: a base of vertical Cumaru slats, wrapped in a charred Cumaru frame, crowned by a brushed stainless top with a half-round edge. On the service side, open shelving provides storage. Wood and steel do not blend — they meet, and the joint is meant to be read. Its geometry allows several layouts: poolside, pool-house, outdoor dining, restaurant, hotel or private home; length, angle and storage are adaptable.

Which materials do you use?
Maison Kaylor favours materials chosen for their character, their resilience and the way they age. Tropical hardwood, natural or charred, and stainless steel are today the signature of the house. Depending on the project, other materials and finishes can be considered.
Can a Maison Kaylor creation be adapted to my project?
Yes. Bespoke work is at the heart of what we do. Dimensions, layout, configuration, equipment, materials and finishes can all be studied according to the place and its uses. We don’t try to fit your project into an existing model: we imagine the piece that suits it.
How much does a bespoke creation cost?
Each creation is studied individually. Its price depends on its dimensions, configuration, materials, equipment and the level of finish you want. After discussing your project, we send you a tailored proposal.
What can Maison Kaylor create?
Maison Kaylor imagines pieces that bring outdoor spaces to life: counters, tables, seating, consoles and fully bespoke creations. Every project is different. Our craft is not to offer a collection to reproduce, but to create the piece that will naturally find its place in your surroundings.
What is the lead time?
On request: it depends on the chosen configuration and the workshop schedule, and is confirmed with the quote.
How do you care for wood and steel outdoors?
The Cumaru is protected by a saturating oil that lets the wood age naturally and is easy to renew; brushed stainless steel is indifferent to salt air and frost. Care advice is handed over at delivery.
